Whangarei Rod & Custom Club

Whangarei Rod and Custom club Inc. was formed in 1967,  2017 was our 50th anniversary!

The club motto is ‘To assist in promoting and organising the sport of hot rodding in our area and promote safety in that sport and on roads generally’. 

We are affiliated to the NZ Hot Rod Assn.

We are both an incorporated society, and a non-profit organisation.

We are never too old to have fun with an emphasis on having fun and member participation.

We cater for all tastes in cars

We get a good cross section of hot rodders, as well as others just interested in cars, along to the club.

We run Rev Up Whangarei , in conjunction with the Whangarei District Council’s Festival of Motorsport every April.

We jointly run the Combined Club’s Swapmeet every April, with NSRI & NVCC.

We are the hosts of the annual Mid Winter Run usually at the end of July.

WRCC has survived all the fads and economic fluctuations that hot rodding has had thrown at it over the past decades and is now benefiting from a big increase in membership, including past members re-joining. Current membership is over 100, giving us a good variety of cars through the hot rodding spectrum.

Club Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30PM in the Northland Vintage Car Clubrooms Heritage Park, Maunu.
